DIRECTOR:

LEE FOSTER (He/Him)

Lee Foster grew up in the GTA and has been making films since his teenage years.   In the last decade Lee has produced and directed several short films and has placed in a number of film festivals.  In 2017 he produced his first feature film 'Nuptials', before producing and directing his second feature “In Its Wake” in January of 2018.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT:

'Black Bag' is a little taste of the kind of movie I've always wanted to make.

I grew up watching movies like Black Hawk Down and The Hunt for Red October, and have always had respect and admiration for members of the armed forces - alongside healthy skepticism towards the thin divide between service, and the ideology and profiteering opportunities presented in major military organizations to those who may be less morally scrupulous.

Black Bag is meant to honour the men and women who sacrifice so much to keep our world safe, and at the same time offer a word of caution in regards to whom we trust to make decisions and why.

This short could also serve as the opening chapter in a broader story we have written (and would love to tell!) that explores the themes of accountability and responsibility, set against the cool tactical aesthetic of popular movies and franchises like Extraction, The Hurt Locker, and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.

I really hope you enjoy our short film - and I truly hope that we have the opportunity to continue the narrative and share our entire vision with you in the future!
